Obituary

We’re deeply saddened to share that Vicki DeMeyer, 62, passed away peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 22, 2026 surrounded by the love of her family after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born in South Bend, IN to LaVern and Monica Chupp, Vicki grew up in Constantine MI, where she developed a love for athletics, community, education and built relationships that lasted a lifetime. She was known for her dedication to the education system, deep love of her family and resilience in face of hard times. Her presence brought warmth and joy to many.

Over the years, Vicki dedicated herself to teaching at White Pigeon Community Schools, leaving a lasting impact on colleagues, friends, and her students. Whether it was putting in extra time, coaching or simply sharing a laugh, she had a way of making people feel valued and important.

Vicki’s greatest joy in life was her family. She is survived by her husband of over 41 years, Doug DeMeyer; her children, Kelsey (Josh) Smith, Nikki (Colby) Wynkoop, Morgan (Brad) Bordewyk, Skyler DeMeyer; her grandchildren, Colton, Graham, Lennon, Weslan and Chandler, who will miss her dearly. She is preceded in death by her father, LaVern Chupp, with whom she is now reunited.

We’ll be gathering to honor Vicki’s life with visitation being held on Monday, July 27, 2026 at Eley Funeral Home, 235 W. Burr Oak St., Centreville MI starting at 11:00 am followed by a brief service at 1:15 pm. A Celebration of life will begin at Venue 1837, 116 W Main St. Centreville, MI 49032 at 2:00 pm. All who knew and loved her are encouraged to attend, share stories, celebrate the memories we hold dear and honor her by wearing her favorite color, yellow.

The family would like to sincerely thank everyone for the prayers, meals, support, encouragement, and love shown throughout Vicki’s journey. Her legacy of strength, love, and dedication will continue through the many lives she touched.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Centrica Care Hospice or The Red Cross, causes close to Vicki’s heart.
